Biographies

David S. Chernow
Since becoming President and CEO of JA Worldwide™ in July of 2001, David S. Chernow has focused on strategic development, national board engagement, and resources to meet the ever-increasing demand for JA nationwide.
Mr. Chernow was previously the president of the Physician Services Group at US Oncology, and was responsible for development and operations for a physician network of more than 850 physicians in 26 states. The Physician Services Group oversees 74 comprehensive cancer centers, and 8,000 employees. As co-founder of America Oncology Resources (AOR), David served as chief development officer prior to the 1999 merger between AOR and another company that formed US Oncology. David also spent nine years in the commercial real estate services business. He earned his J.D. at Pepperdine University, and his undergraduate degree from UCLA.

Jim McKenna and Erren Gottlieb
James McKenna and Erren Gottlieb, of McKenna/Gottlieb Producers Inc. are best known as the Co-creators, Executive Producers and Directors of Disney Presents ‘Bill Nye the Science Guy’. McKenna and Gottlieb produced 100 episodes of this critically-acclaimed internationally televised series, winning four national Emmy Awards for writing and directing as well as the 1999 and 2000 national Emmy Awards for Outstanding Children’s Television.

McKenna/Gottlieb’s other highlights include an Emmy nominated prime-time special for ABC as well as productions for The Food Network, Speed Channel, General Electric, General Motors, Microsoft, National Geographic and President Bill Clinton. Other awards include two Gold Medals from the New York Festivals, the first Annenberg Foundation Award, two Monitor Awards and two Environmental Media Awards.

Jamie Hammond
Has worked in production management and producing in over one hundred national television projects and feature films in Los Angeles, New York and Mexico. She worked with Danny Thomas, Bob Hope, David Letterman, Willie Nelson, Gary Coleman and many others on projects for NBC, CBS and ABC.

Hammond was Co-coordinating Producer for Bill Nye the Science Guy for Buena Vista Television and PBS. This is the first series with simultaneous distribution to both public and commercial broadcasters. The series received multiple awards, 26 national Emmys including two for Outstanding Children’s Television Series, and in 1999 received the National Science Board Public Service Award among others. Since delivering the final episode of “Nye”, Jamie has produced eight series including over 275 episodes for PBS in the areas of “How To” and Natural History and developed strong production relationships with several cable broadcasters and international distributors.
