MANAGEMENT
Tena Lozano/Executive Director
In her role as executive director, Tena is responsible for leading the Foundation, which provides resources for credit unions to deliver financial education in their communities. The Foundation serves credit unions in California and Nevada, and offers its signature program, Bite of Reality® which is a fun, two-and-a-half-hour, hands-on simulation that appeals to teens while giving them a taste of real-world financial realities.
Tena serves as a board member for the National Credit Union Foundations as well as the California Jump$tart Coalition for personal finance. Tena also serves on the State Credit Union Foundation Network Executive Committee and the California Department of Education’s Business Education Resources Group (BERG), helping to draft standards and curriculum for Career Technical Education.
Tena received a bachelor’s degree in communication arts from California Polytechnic University, Pomona and has more than 30 years’ experience in the credit union movement, including work in public relations at WesCorp and the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues.
