The California's Credit Unions, Nevada's Credit Unions, Utah's Credit Unions and the Richard Myles Johnson (RMJ) Foundation are pleased to offer our Financial Counselor Academy launching March 2026.

Virtual/Live, interactive sessions take place on Thursdays from 9-10:30 AM Pacific Time on:

Upon completing the program and passing the test, participants will receive the Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation. To also receive the Financial Counselor Academy Certificate of Completion, you must attend all live sessions and one in-person Session in Southern California. Capstone location of your choice.
Designed to greatly enhance the self-study Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP) offered by the America’s Credit Unions, this program uses America’s Credit Unions FiCEP edition 6 digital textbook as a learning foundation and adds elements to help participants easily grasp and retain counseling concepts and knowledge. Our engaging and interactive webinars use relevant examples and our fill-in-the blank study guides and live exam prep session help reinforce the knowledge you need to pass the exam and effectively perform your counseling duties.
Participants will not only engage with the presenters and study guides, but will also learn and interact with their cohort throughout the Academy, enhancing their experience and building relationships that will last for years to come.
The Financial Counselor Academy Curriculum includes:
- FiCEP digital textbook to be read at the student’s pace prior to webinar viewing
- 8 tutorial webinars that spotlight, reinforce and further explain important details from the textbook
- 8 fill-in-the-blank study guides with answer keys to accompany each webinar
- 6 live, interactive videoconferences to delve into bringing the learning to the real world
- 1 live instructor-led zoom exam preparation session using anonymous polling and group discussion
- 1 pre-recorded exam prep video that highlights textbook areas to focus on
- 1 instructor led training day to include instruction recap, role playing, mind mapping program implementation, idea sharing & best practices
- Take-away tool kit including budget spreadsheets, spending plans, program decision guides, action plans, tracking methods and more!
- 1 League proctored online certification test consisting of 100 questions
